Agents selling property near Foxconn play waiting game

By DIANA PANUNCIAL, Racine Journal Times
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — Howard Haubrich, a real estate agent with Bear Realty, has a few properties he’s trying to sell between Racine and Kenosha County. But there’s only one of them that’s carrying a price tag of $3.9 million.
It’s a 30-acre property on the 4000 block of 90th street in Mount Pleasant. And it’s “right across the street from Foxconn,” Haubrich said.
He had hoped it would be prime real estate for developers and businesses trying to get in on the sprouting Interstate-94 corridor around Foxconn. But, since it was put on the market in December, there haven’t been any buyers. Not yet at least.

All five elk hunters selected for this year's elk hunting season have harvested an elk during the firearms portion.
The elk hunting season ended Sunday. There were no harvests during the archery potion from Oct. 17-25.
Michael Buschjost, of St. Thomas,  was drawn for an antlered elk permit. He harvested a 6x6 bull outside of the refuge portion of Peck Ranch Conservation Area on Dec. 15.
Buschjost has hunted elk in Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming. He said he was excited to hunt elk in Missouri and to take his three kids with him to scout the area before the season opened.

Three men harvest bulls in first-ever Missouri elk hunting season

Springfield News-Leader
Three men successfully hunted elk this past week, making this the first-ever harvested since the cervids were reintroduced to the state nearly a decade ago.
Joseph Benthall, of Mount Vernon, was one of five permit holders for this elk hunting season and the first to shoot a bull, said Aaron Hildreth, elk specialist with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Only five bull elk could be taken. Following an unsuccessful archery season in October, the five hunters entered the rifle portion of the elk season.
“Those same hunters had the opportunity to go back out and fulfill their tags,” Hildreth said about the firearms portion opening Dec. 12.
