Kerala journalist killed in hit-and-run; Cong, BJP allege foul play; CM orders SIT probe News Network December 15, 2020 Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 15: City-based journalist S V Pradeep was killed in a road accident nearby Karakkamandapa on Monday evening after the two wheeler he was riding was hit by a car, police said. Witnesses said the vehicle that hit Pradeep was a Swaraj Mazda truck and came from the same direction. The vehicle hit Pradeep s scooter, knocking him down and sped away after the accident. The police said they are focussed on tracing the vehicle that caused the accident. The opposition Congress and BJP have demanded an inquiry into the death. The mysterious death of Pradeep must be cleared. It needs a high-level investigation to find the vehicle which hit the journalist said Kerala Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala. ....
Railway bribery scam inspired by Bollywood; Rs 10 note number used as code for payment Agencies December 13, 2020 New Delhi, Dec 13: The 2013 railway bribe scam looked inspired by the Bollywood thrillers of late 70s and 80s in which the villains could be seen carrying one half of a rupee note to match it with the other half as the modus operandi to receive and deliver money. A similar tactic of matching the code numbers of Rs 10 currency notes could be seen in the bribery scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found in its investigation. The revelations has been made in the chargesheet filed by the financial probe agency earlier this year in a Special PMLA court against several people, including Vijay Singla, the nephew of then Railway Minister and senior Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal. ....

The chargesheet was filed by the ED in the 2013 bribe for posting case. The ED said, The statements of the witnesses recorded clearly established the intents of the accused persons and their involvement in the schedule offences and generation of proceeds of crime by way of layering and integration of funds through a number of entities and persons. ....
