Seeds for Eco Communities is an Ontario based not-for-profit that strives to provide educational tools and resources to anyone interested in establishing eco communities or living in an off-grid self-sustaining environment. Information is also shared to help those interested in beginning or continuing to move the yardstick towards a lower footprint life.
This year, we have partnered with RainBarrel.ca for a second time and are currently holding a rain barrel fundraiser sale for residents of Barrie, Ajax, Pickering and Prince Edward County. Each rain barrel includes a leaf and mosquito filter basket, an overflow adaptor, a spigot and an overflow hose.

Chester's Eco Communities to mark annual Earth Day celebrations | Chester and District Standard

A CHESTER-BASED organisation is celebrating 'Earth Day' by launching its carbon footprint project.
Eco Communities, a community interest company set up in the city, aims to support the borough in making the area greener and cleaner as well as helping people to understand climate change and how it will impact on them.
It wants to help everyone in Cheshire West and Chester to work out their carbon footprint and make lifestyle changes to reduce this, supporting the region's Climate Emergency declaration.
A carbon footprint measures greenhouse gases (GHG) produced directly and indirectly via a person’s lifestyle and activities.
To help people work out their carbon footprint, Eco Communities has linked up with Giki Zero on its Pro platform for businesses and community groups.

Chester urged to turn red hearts green in the run up to Valentine's Day

PEOPLE in Chester are being urged to 'Show the Love' in the build up to Valentine's Day by swapping traditional red hearts for green.
Eco Communities, a community interest company set up in the city to unite people towards the shared goal of mitigating climate change, is behind the initiative.
'Show the Love' is an annual event by The Climate Coalition which uses the green heart as a symbol for the things we care about and want to protect from the climate crisis the world is facing.
As part of the initiative, Eco Communities will be putting on a two-day virtual event aimed at helping to inform people on ways of preventing climate change on a personal level.
