At the conclusion of the prior season before RR’s arrival, I didn’t have much hope. Even when he was signed and Danny’s opening tone deaf remarks well into January of Happy Thanksgiving, I truly had my doubts. This team was a mess, a circus, a joke. It was rare you heard anything positive from the press, or anyone who knew anything about football. Ron was highly respected around the league and many were shocked he would take this job. The man had balls, let’s just be frank. He had better options but he chose the Mount Everest of the NFL. Not long after his hiring controversy struck….big surprise eh? Then even worse a pandemic, and on top of that, Ron was diagnosed with cancer. No one would have blamed him for walking away, taking time off, because with this new wave disease, he was considered high risk. But that’s just not Ron apparently. The 488-page document was loaded with research and insights that would prove very dangerous indeed a threat to a Canada in which men blindly benefited from the unpaid labour of their wives at home, a society in which legal restrictions kept women from enjoying their recently enshrined human rights.
