One police department was honored with breakfast on Sunday morning. The Dunmore Rotary and Lions Club banded together to host officers from the Dunmore Police Department and their families at St. Anthony s Field on Smith Street. The menu included scrambled eggs, ham, and sausage. This is a very thoughtful event they had for us. With everything going on in the country, our community is a close-knit community, and we really do care about our people in Dunmore, and this is just a reflection of how they re giving the love back, said patrolman Anthony Cali. ....
SCRANTON The United States Attorney s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Eric R. Colborn of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on April 14, 2021, to 16 months imprisonment to be followed by a three-year term of supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani for bank fraud. Judge Mariani also ordered Colborn to pay restitution in the amount of $22,470.40. According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Colborn previously entered guilty pleas on January 15, 2020 to bank fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Colborn created a counterfeit Wells Fargo brokerage statement in his name showing that he had in excess of $14,000,000 in a brokerage account, and then fraudulently induced reliance on the counterfeit brokerage statement to secure property and other things of value. One such example occurred when Colborn admittedly issued a bad check to a local realtor in the amount of $2,000 for a down payment toward ....
Updated: 6:03 PM EST December 19, 2020 For the third year in a row, the Dunmore Police Department brought holiday cheer to families in need. Every year, the department works with the Dunmore School District to identify children in need and have them make a wants and needs list. In years past, children have requested items such as warm winter clothes, a washing machine, and even a Christmas tree. This year, in addition to having several drop-off locations, the department held a Christmas Drive-Thru event at the Greater Scranton YMCA. Members of the community dropped off unwrapped toys and waved hello to Santa. ....
The Dunmore Police Department wants to make sure every child has a good Christmas. For the third year in a row, the department is asking for monetary donations or new, unwrapped toys for local families in need. Each year, the department coordinates with the Dunmore School District to identify children they can help and find out their wants and needs. âItâs been a difficult year for everyone. We considered not hosting the drive this year for that reason, but knowing the need is so prevalent this year, we chose to continue the tradition,â said Patrolman Tom Richardson. Drop off toy donations at the police station, DePietroâs Pharmacy, Fidelity Bank, Century 21 Jack Ruddy Real Estate, Greater Scranton YMCA or Riccardoâs Market. ....
