(WBTV) - A tree brought down power lines in north Charlotte Tuesday morning, blocking the entrance to Shamrock Garden Elementary for a time. The incident happened before 3 a.m. By 8 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said there were no delays. The downed lines left at least 14 homes in the area without power. A man will face court today, over an alleged public shooting in Cardiff. Police were called to a home on Newcastle Street just after 11pm on February 14, following reports a group of men were fighting. Officers spoke with a 26-year-old man when they arrived, but couldn’t find anyone else nearby. A 21-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident and remains before the courts. After further inquiries, police received information that a firearm was discharged twice during the fight. It’s understood no one was injured during the incident. Officers attended a property on Newcastle Street on March 16 and spoke with a 37-year-old man. ....
