7:45 p.m. Thursday update: CalFire’s Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit said Thursday evening that fire crews “are making good progress and the fire … is 150 acres and 0 % contained. Resources will continue to work towards full containment throughout the night.”
6:20 p.m. Thursday update: The mandatory evacuation order has been downgraded to an evacuation warning, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office said. The shelter at Calaveras High remains open to evacuees through 8 p.m.
Some Lode residents ordered to evacuate
Some Calaveras County residents are being told to evacuate immediately as a quickly spreading wildfire burns north of Valley Springs, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday afternoon.

Roads to be impacted by this event will include: Baldwin Street, Burson Road, Camanche Parkway South, Campo Seco Road, Daphne Street, Garner Place, Hartvickson Lane, Hogan Dam Road, Laurel Street, New Hogan Parkway, Olive Orchard Road, Paloma Road, Pardee Dam Road, Sandretto Road, Silver Rapids Road, State Route 12, State Route 26, and Watertown Road.
