Top-50 center Donovan Clingan is set to hit Ann Arbor for an official visit on June 11th. Michigan is in good position here and one-on-one time with Juwan Howard going into full detail with regard to Clingan's fit in the Wolverine offense can only improve that position.
Donovan is also slated to take OVs to Syracuse, Ohio State and UConn, with Kentucky putting out a feeler earlier this week. The Huskies will also get an unofficial visit in the aftermath of the trip to Ann Arbor. The visits are undoubtedly indicative of the serious players in this recruitment, but functionally this a two-horse race between the Wolverines and UConn.
In speaking with multiple sources in the last week, Juwan Howard has made up a ton of ground with Clingan. So much so, that this a true 50/50 battle. But Donovan taking two visits to UConn within a two week period speaks volumes about where the Huskies stand as well. Clingan's official trip to Michigan will go a long way in determining our standing moving forward. If we know anything about Juwan Howard though, he absolutely resonates with prospects and their respective families in a way that few college coaches can. It's closing time.

According to a release from the NCAA, if the rule is approved by the NCAA playing rules oversight panel on June 3, players could get hit with a technical foul for "falling to the court despite not being contacted after field goal attempts, dribblers who bob their heads to simulate being contacted and players who act like they were the recipient of contact despite not being touched."

A funny thing happened when Brandon Johns Jr. knew he would start and play heavy minutes for Michigan: He played really well.
With Michigan’s two starting forwards no longer with the program, there will be another major opportunity for Johns next season.

Scranton, Pennsylvania was my destination over the weekend at the KYDA Invitational. The field was absolutely loaded, with several shoe-sponsored clubs taking the court featuring several Michigan offers/targets. 
In the first of three updates coming this week, we'll touch on the wings today.

Prior to the weekend I exchanged texts with a coach from a prominent prep school and
Cam Whitmore was my reply when asked my preference for realistic wings (assuming no Jarace Walker) in 2022. And let me tell you, my stance was absolutely solidified based on the on-court performance over the weekend.

It was a loaded weekend on the AAU scene, with several high-level events going on at various locations. While I was in Louisville for the Grassroots Showcase, several noteworthy prospects took the court around the country and the relevant news came in abundance.
The final update of this week is dedicated to wings/forwards. The bigs update can be found here and the guard here. 
 
5-star wing/forward
Jarace Walker has played things relatively close to the vest with respect to his recruitment, but it appears Michigan is absolutely a legit contender here. In an update with 247, Walker confirms Ann Arbor is on the short list of official visits he plans to take.
