Man hires paralegal to handle his divorce — discovers he's still married
A man hires a paralegal to handle his divorce, only to discover his money and the paralegal were gone — and he's still married. It's a symptom of a bigger problem because, in many parts of the country, there's no way to tell if a paralegal has any training, expertise or insurance.

Jordan Kankam celebrated his 28th birthday with takeout, using his small monthly allowance to order ginger beef from a Chinese restaurant in northeast Edmonton.
Few restaurants deliver to Alberta Hospital Edmonton, a psychiatric facility on the outskirts of town. The hospital is at the end of a bumpy two-lane road, and once the driver gets there, the wooded complex of institutional buildings is like a maze. Kankam met the driver outside the Helen Hunley Forensic Pavilion, returned to his room, and ate alone.

MLA wants more info on closures, critiques vaccine rate
Poll
Yes
As new COVID-19 public health measures come into effect, the city’s MLA for Cypress-Medicine Hat is calling the unrest in the province “disturbing” after a weekend of high-profile arrests.
But Drew Barnes says he supports vaccination as a way to combat the virus and believes COVID is spread by person-to-person contact. And what he says Albertans now need is justification for closing businesses and is calling for evidence to show that shuttering patios and fitness facilities will reduce COVID transmission.
The outspoken UCP MLA is calling on governments to “do everything they can to streamline the vaccination process,” and says Alberta has done a good job in getting long-term care residents and frontline medical staff fully vaccinated.
