Her husband left her two years ago, leaving her at the mercy of God, with no legal rights or financial support for her and her son. She survives by cleaning houses in the neighbourhood in Dera Ismail Khan and begging for financial support.
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has failed to formulate and notify the rules under the Hindu Marriage Act 2017 to protect Hindu women s legal and financial rights in case of a divorce or separation.
There are many destitute Hindu women like Prisha in KP. When their husbands walk away, they are left without any legal rights or means of support. They, and their children, often end up condemned to a life without any necessities such as housing and food.

Minorities’ personal laws issues taken up with minister

PESHAWAR: The issues pertaining to the Christian and Hindu personal laws have been taken up with the KP Law Department and assurance received for the remedial measures, said representatives of the minorities communities on Monday.
They said the development came when a group belonging to the religious minorities drawn from different parts of the country met Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Fazal Shakoor Khan at his office here on Friday and requested him for support to redress legal the issues faced by religious minorities.
The members from Christian, Hindu and Sikh communities belonging to KP, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, were part of the delegation, said a press release, adding the minister was flanked by the officials of the KP Law Department.
Patna police search for woman who offers bikes on rent for crimes

Patna, May 27 : The Patna police have launched a manhunt to nab a woman who offers a bike on rent service to criminals.
The matter came to light after a man was nabbed with a stolen LPG cylinder under the jurisdiction of Patrakar Nagar police station. During investigation, the accused Amar Kumar disclosed that he had taken a bike on rent from a woman named Pushpa Kumari, who is popular as didi among the local criminals, to execute the crime. She charges Rs 300 as rent for a bike per day and also takes a share from the stolen items, said a senior police official of Patrakar Nagar police station.
