THE mayor of Portland said she was very disappointed at discovering yobs had spray painted along a sea wall on Chesil Beach. Police said they were made aware of the graffiti on the sea wall below The Cove House Inn pub on Thursday, July 15 but believe that the damage was caused at the end of June and are now investigating the act of vandalism. Mayor of Portland, Sandy West, has blasted the criminal damage and said she was obviously very disappointed to see it at the well-known Dorset beauty spot. She said: Chesil Beach is such a magnificent place and for some idiot to come along to spray the wall - it is ridiculous.
