Officials say Sigma Chi located on Prospect Ave. Is now suspended after hosting a large maskless gathering without following COVID-19 protocols.
The fraternity’s party went against the State College boroughs COVID-19 ordinance and the university’s separate COVID-19 guidelines as well. But this is not the first time the fraternity has found themselves in trouble they were placed on interim suspension back in October, and now they will continue that way through 2024.
Vice President of Student Affairs Damon Sims says,
“Despite multiple opportunities in recent years to correct various behaviors, the Sigma Chi chapter blatantly ignored clear guidelines about large gatherings during the pandemic.” He finishes with “the university cannot allow groups to avoid the most basic public health requirements. ” ....
