New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki Police on Thursday booked eight people for being part of a committee that allegedly committed “fraud and cheating” to get Ghareeb Nawaz Mosque, which was demolished on Monday, registered as a Waqf property. The case was lodged at the Ramsanehi Ghat police station late on Thursday night.

Lucknow, May 21 : A case has been lodged by Barabanki police against seven people for allegedly resorting to fraud and cheating to get a mosque that was demolished earlier this week, registered as a Waqf property.
The case was lodged on Thursday lodged a case against some members of the committee, including a former UP Sunni Central Waqf Board inspector,
The district administration had demolished the mosque in the village of Bani Kada in Ram Sanehi Ghat tehsil on Monday, claiming it was an "illegal structure". It was locally known as the Gareeb Nawaz Masjid.

BARABANKI: Police here registered a case of fraud against a former inspector of the UP Sunni Central Waft Board and seven members of the management committee of the mosque demolished recently here.
The case against them was registered on the complaint of District Minority Welfare Officer Son Kumar, police said on Friday.
The Barabanki administration had on Monday night pulled down the mosque in Ram Sanehi Ghat, saying the construction was illegal and demolished on court orders.
