TWO stores known for their value for money will be opening on Manchester Road this Thursday. Supermarket chain Lidl is opening the doors to their fifth Bolton branch on February 25, while discount retailer Poundstretcher will be joining them. Lidl has launched two other supermarkets in Greater Manchester as part of the company’s £1.3bn investment plans across the country, a second store is opening in Manchester while a third will be launched in Glossop. These stores will create around 120 new jobs. Lidl provided an additional retail unit to Poundstretcher at the site on Manchester Road. The supermarket will feature an in-store bakery, parking for both cars and bicycles and electric vehicle charging spaces.

With the district auditorium undergoing renovation and the COVID-19 pandemic placing limits on gatherings and other restrictions, the theater troupe found a way to continue what has become a more than 20-year holiday tradition in the community.
