Our Western Book Club and Film Series continues next week with “Shane” the 1949 novel by Jack Schaefer and adapted to the big screen in 1953. “Shane” tells the story of a weary gunfighter who attempts to settle down with a homestead family, but he is drawn into a battle between the townsfolk and a ruthless cattle baron, forcing him to act.
Join us for a virtual discussion of the book, hosted by Jeannette Eaton of Skidompha Library. This discussion will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. The film may be streamed via Amazon Prime and other outlets, with a post film discussion, hosted by Lincoln Theater s Andrew Fenniman, also via Zoom Saturday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
