Strong storms are continuing into Tuesday night. White said if you re on the road, try and find the nearest building to shelter. If time is limited, your next best option is sheltering in a low area.

Before the storm… The days leading up to April 27th were extremely busy and also a time filled with an unusual energy that accompanies potential high end severe weather days. I recall that we were at an Easter Egg Hunt the prior Saturday, April 23rd (our daughter was 9 then) when several parents came up to ask me about the weather for the following week. So word was already getting out. In fact, looking back at the forecast discussion and outlooks we were already highlighting significant impact weather for the coming Wednesday. By Monday, briefings were in full swing and the media was requesting interviews at a rather rapid pace. One interview in particular struck me, especially in hindsight. KINSMAN Elsie Ellen Fell, 92, Saturday, April 24, 2021, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Kinsman, a daughter of Hazel York Westenfelder Crouser and William Westenfelder. Elsie graduated from Kinsman High School in 1946, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University and her master’s degree in reading from Westminister College. A long-time Kinsman resident, Elsie lived in New Port Richey, Florida, and taught as a reading specialist for Pasco County School District for 17 years. She also taught reading in the Mathews School District and retired in 1991. On April 23, 1947, she married James A. Fell. Elsie was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church and enjoyed reading, doing cross-stitch and embroidery and gardening.
