By Lauryn Snapp Memorial Day is right around the corner, and a lot of people are vacation-bound, baby! So get ready to pack your suitcase smarter. Steal my favorite pro-packing hacks and vacation like a worry-free PRO! Make a packing list for each family member. Packing cubes might seem ridiculous, but they are worth it, saving you space and keeping things organized. Roll your clothing. This not only saves space but also keeps your items from becoming wrinkled. Book with locations that have laundry on site. This will help minimize what you need to bring for the week. Bring extra bags! Zip locks and grocery store bags are a great hack to save you time and energy when organizing your stuff once you get to your destination.
By Angie Ward The second Super Moon of 2021 - the Full Flower Moon - happens this Wednesday. It is the only total lunar eclipse of the year. This moon is named due to the abundance of springtime flowers in the Northern Hemisphere around this time, according to the Farmer’s Almanac. May is also the time when farmers begin to seed their fields after hard frosts have ended. There are several websites to help you get a better view. 4:45 am EDT - The Griffith Observatoryin Los Angeles plans to stream live views starting at 4:45 a.m. EDT, two minutes before the penumbral phase of the eclipse begins.
May 17, 2021 I have a pretty massive coin collection of over 1,200 coins!! And I always get excited any time there's a new coin series announced! Since 2010, the US Mint has been issuing quarters featuring designs depicting national parks and other national sites, but that program wraps up this year with coins featuring Duke Ellington, the Tuskegee Airmen and Samoan fruit bats. After that for one year, the reverse of our quarters will depict George Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware River. But then in January 2022, the US Mint is launching their "American Women Quarters Program", honoring pioneering women from throughout our country's history.
By Angie Ward May 13, 2021 Oh sure - you've heard about the "chicken shortage" and I'll bet you just assumed it was all because of those dreaded "chicken wars" we are tired of seeing and hearing about between our favorite fast food restaurants, but that's not the real reason! Well, not according to meat processor Tyson. Tyson says it's roosters are to blame! Apparently the chicken processing giant has switched up it's roosters and well...they just aren't getting things done with the chicks! Reports are that they changed out the male birds and have experienced an "unexpected decline in hatchings earlier this year because of the type of roosters it used."(Source: Greensboro News & Record)
By Jennifer Drysdale Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic Granger Smith and his wife, Amber, are honoring their late son with the name of their upcoming fourth child. The couple revealed in a YouTube video on Tuesday how they're incorporating a bit of River's name into the moniker of their baby boy due in August. Granger and Amber have decided on the name Maverick Beckham Smith, which includes subtle tributes to River, who drowned at their home in Texas in 2019. He was 3. As Amber explained, she wanted the letters R, I and V to appear somewhere in their baby's first name. "I wanted this baby to have his own identity, and I didn't want him to be so tied to River," she shared. "But I did want him to have a little piece of his brother in his name."
