Authorities have identified two people killed in a house fire in Union Gap last Sunday. The fire in Union Gap that destroyed a home and left the two dead was intentionally set. That from investigators in the Union Gap Police Department who say the suspicious fire has now turned into a homicide investigation. The fire was reported at about 2:50 a.m. March 28 at a home at 2210 South 5th Avenue in Union Gap. Two bodies were found after the flames were doused. An autopsy has found that both died of smoke inhalation.
They ve been identified as 33-year-old Tyler Aalbu and 66-year-old Roger Harrington both from Yakima.

UNION GAP, Wash. (AP) The two men killed in a Sunday house fire in central Washington have been identified.
Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice said Roger Harrington, 66, and Tyler Aalbu, 32, were identified through DNA and dental records, The Yakima Herald-Republic reported. Both men, whose bodies were found in the charred rubble of the house in Union Gap, died of smoke inhalation, Curtice said.
Union Gap police said the men’s deaths are being investigated as homicides. Investigators say they determined the house was deliberately set on fire.

Firefighters were called to the home around 2:50 a.m. Sunday. Police Lt. Stace McKinley said police know of three people who escaped the fire, one of whom was treated and released from a hospital.

Lona Marie Milligan (Stolz), 73, of West Des Moines, passed away after a brief fight with cancer on Valentine’s Day evening, Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 with her loving husband of 49-years by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Sunday, February 28
th from 1-4 p.m. The family requests that masks be worn.
Loni was born January 21, 1948, in New Hampton, Iowa to Avalt and Janice (Kelly) Stolz; the proud oldest of five children. Loni graduated from New Hampton High School in 1966, studied at UNI, then headed to Des Moines to pursue her career. She eventually met Michael Milligan and the two married on Thanksgiving weekend, 1971. Together with their two children Michael and Shawn they moved around the state in pursuit of Mike’s career in education
