NEW BOSTON The first meeting of the Village of New Boston Council for the month of July was held Tuesday evening. Mayor Junior Williams stated that there would be no more virtual meetings which had began as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor DeWine’s July 1st cutoff. All members were present for this meeting.

NEW BOSTON The Village of New Boston Council held their second regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday evening live-streaming for the public with all members present including new Councilman Korey Jones.
Mayor Junior Williams read the resignation letter of Jacob Emnett as Interim Police Chief, with Councilman Jon Mills making a motion to accept and Councilman Dan Fetty seconded with all in favor. NEW BOSTON The New Boston Village Council has named an interim Police Chief, as independent investigators investigate employee complaints against New Boston Police Chief Steve Goins.
Following two special meetings held in February, The New Boston Village Council held its first regular meeting Tuesday, naming an interim chief and welcoming a new police officer and firefighter to the departments.
New Boston Mayor Jr. Williams appointed Jacob Emnett as Interim Police Chief. The mayor clarified that Emnett is a senior officer and has the knowledge it takes to carry on as interim chief while an investigation took place on Police Chief Goins. Williams also stated that New Boston Officers Larry Anderson and Robert Deerfield had been placed on paid leave, according to Department Polic

NEW BOSTON The Village of New Boston held its last scheduled meeting for the year 2020 on Tuesday evening via Zoom.
The meeting was brought to order by the mayor, Junior Williams with the pledge and a silent prayer. Williams discussed that the Bikers Toy Drive wasn’t down as much as they were originally worried about, he stated that they were probably going to be about the same as last year. He also wanted to thank the ladies in the office Lana Loper, Lori Jordan, and Jessica Grant for all of the wrapping of the many presents and efforts in trying to get them out.
