Orleans Woman Sentenced to Prison After Striking Jail Officer – WBIW

(BEDFORD) – An Orleans woman was sentenced to prison on a felony charge of battery resulting in bodily injury to a jail officer.
Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge John Plummer sentenced Dara Hagemier to three years in the Department of Corrections. He then suspended one year which will be served on supervised probation when she is released

Hagemier pleaded guilty to the charge in a negotiated plea deal on November 24, 2020. A habitual offender charge was dropped.
On the evening of March 5, 2020, 43-year-old Hagemier, was booked into jail on charges of public intoxication and residential entry. During the booking process, she struck a jail officer. ....

(BEDFORD) – A Williams man was sentenced to five years in prison in Lawrence County Superior Court I, Thursday morning.

Judge John Plummer sentenced Christopher Sower on felony charges of invasion of privacy and intimidation with prior convictions.
Sower was arrested in January 2020. He pleaded guilty in a negotiated plea deal on December 14, 2020.
Police say Sowers violated a protective order.
Police say Sowers threatened to burn down a woman’s house while she and her male friend were inside.
The woman also received two letters from Sower which contained more threats. Police say Sower sent the letters while he was incarcerated in the Monroe County Jail. ....

Former Springville Man Sentenced To Prison For Possession Of Meth, Arson Charges – WBIW

(BEDFORD) – On Tuesday, 29-year-old Sean Meadows, who said he was homeless, pleaded guilty to possession of meth in Lawrence County Superior Court I.

In a negotiated plea deal, Meadows pleaded guilty to the possession of meth charges.
Judge John Plummer III sentenced Meadows to serve four years on the arson case for violating his probation.
In December 2010, Judge Plummer sentenced Meadows to six years of supervised probation for setting a wildfire that caused damage to Highview Baptist Church.
Meadows was sentenced on one count of felony arson, in addition to auto theft from a separate case after pleading guilty in a negotiated plea deal on November 1, 2019 and was released on his own recognizance until his sentencing. ....
