CAMDEN, S.C. (WIS) - Two people died in a house fire in downtown Camden on Friday night, officials said.
The fire happened around 8 p.m. on Lyttleton Street, which is off Bull Street near Broad Street.
When the Camden Fire Department arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were told one person had gotten out, but two people were still inside the home.
Crews rescued a man from the house and rushed him to the hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead when they arrived.

Camden, S.C. (WOLO)– Kershaw Co. Coroner David West says two people whose bodies were found following a house fire in Camden were murdered.
West says Steven and Nancy Hales both died due to homicide. The specific method of homicide was not released.
West says the couple had been married 36 years and moved to Camden in 2005.
According to the Camden Police Department Thomas Knotts was arrested Monday night and charged with two counts of murder and arson in connection with the fire at the home on Lyttleton St.
Officers say Knotts was acquainted with the victims who resided on Lyttleton Street in Camden and more charges are expected.

Thomas Dwayne Knotts, 43, of Kershaw Highway, Camden (above), is charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson for allegedly setting a Lyttleton Street home ablaze and killing two people whose bodies were found inside. He is being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center and is expected to have his first court hearing today. As of Monday, Kershaw County Coroner David West had yet to identify the victims found inside the home.
Late Sunday night, the Camden Police Department (CPD) announced it had arrested Thomas Dwayne Knotts, 43, who was arrested at a Kershaw Highway, Camden residence where he was living with family members, in connection with a Sunday morning house fire on Lyttleton Street where firefighters found two deceased people. So far, the CPD has charged Knotts with two counts each of murder and kidnapping, and one count each of second-degree arson and use of a vehicle without owner’s consent. In a statement released just after 11 p.m. Sunday, the CPD said Knotts was acquainted with the victims and that more charges are pending.

CAMDEN, S.C. (WIS) - The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has identified the couple who were found dead inside a Camden house fire.
The bodies of Steven Hales and Nancy Hales were found on January 10 after officials extinguished the fire at their home on Lyttleton Street. The cause of death for both victims has been ruled a homicide.
They had been married for 36 years and moved to Camden in 2005, the coroner’s office said.

CAMDEN, S.C. (WIS) - The Camden Fire Department is investigating a house fire that killed two people.
The fire occurred on the 1600 block of Lyttleton Street shortly after 5 a.m.
Once the fire was extinguished, the bodies of two individuals were found deceased inside the residence.
An investigation determined that both individuals died as a result of foul play. Their identities are unknown at this time.
SLED and the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department are assisting with the investigation. Officials do not believe this was a random crime.
