CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -The Virginia Film Festival is bringing back its âBeyond the Screenâ film discussion series.
It will begin again next Thursday, February 4 with a discussion of a new psychological thriller featuring Denzel Washington called âThe Little Things.â
The film festival will sit down with the filmâs screenwriter and director John Lee Hancock and producer Mark Johnson.
âWe started this last spring with the onset of the pandemic as a way to continue to engage our audiences through the Virginia Film Festival with a monthly series with filmmakers about their films or their careers,â Festival Director Jody Kielbasa said.

The film, which will hit US theatres and be available for streaming on HBO Max on January 29 (with a UK cinema date still to be confirmed), sees Malek and Washington team up to hunt a killer who is terrorising Los Angeles. Warner Bros.
And from the trailer, it seems the number one suspect is none other than The Joker himself Jared Leto.
Washington plays Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe Deke Deacon who is sent to LA on an evidence-gathering assignment but becomes embroiled in the search for the killer.
Leading the hunt is LA Sheriff Department Sergeant Jim Baxter (Malek), who is impressed with Deke s cop instincts and unofficially engages his help.
The Little Things also carries the feeling of something more akin to

Instead, he becomes embroiled in the search for a killer who is terrorizing the city. But as they track the killer, Baxter is unaware that the investigation is dredging up echoes of Deke’s past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than his case.
Leto, as you might be able to figure out from a process of elimination, is the prime suspect.
