A motion to hire more career firefighters has resulted in a resignation.
Ward 3 Coun. Gerry Montpellier resigned, effective immediately, from the emergency services committee on Tuesday, following a prolonged discussion about fire area rating and staffing levels at station 16 in Val Therese.
