Just to the end of my era in Harringay so very evocative - but looking at Google today less has changed than in most places. Comment by Tony on February 12, 2018 at 13:28
My Grandparents lived In Stanley Rd So I used to walk along this stretch a lot as a child in the 60 s and 70 s nearly always stopping to look in the window of Pets corner. I also remember shops along here like Mills Market and Wests the chemist and Blaines the Bakers.

The tram withdrawal notices are pasted on the windows of 2003, dating this photo to the end of March, beginning of April 1952. Comment by Stephen Holliday on March 1, 2015 at 9:47
Great photo! I remember being taken on the bus (or trolleybus) from where we lived near Turnpike Lane to Manor House and then crossing the junction to the waiting tram. There were several trips to the South Bank during the last years of the trams. I can still remember the excitement of going through the Kingsway tunnel. The most memorable trip was to the Festival of Britain in 1951.
