Detailed description is Dobro došli na zvaničnu Facebook stranicu Veterinarske stanice Šabac.. Neposredno nakon oslobodjenja, 1944. i 1945. godine sa radom malobrojnih veterinara na suzbijanju ratnih zaraza, počelo je i organizovanje veterinarske službe u Šapcu. Prva ambulanta formirana je 1947. godine, zbog potreba ovog kraja. Iste godine, počela je sa radom i Srednja veterinarska škola u Šapcu. 1952. godine, odlukom Vlade Srbije doneta je Uredba o formiranju stočarsko-veterinarskih stanica. Pored veterinara, u ovoj službi su angažovani zootehničari i agronomi stočari sa ciljem bržeg razvoja stočarstva. U ovom periodu su najčesce bile zastupljene bolesti konja. Osnivanjem prve veterinarske apoteke, 1963. godine služba je počela promet lekova, aditiva i hraniva. To je bila prva veterinarska apoteka u Srbiji. Veterinarska stanica u Šapcu je bila dobro organizovana, sa mrežom ambulanti i punktova, dobrom opremom i kadrovima. Godinama je bila uzor u Srbiji. Vremenom je formirana i Služba za dezinfekciju, dezinsekciju i deratizaciju. Služba se toliko razvila, svojim stručnim radom, da je 1983. godine za nju kupljena zgrada i adaptirana za potrebe kojima i danas sluzi. 01.10.2009. godine Veterinarska stanica “Šabac” postaje Akcionarsko Društvo. Danas na području opštine Šabac radi Veterinarska stanica “Šabac” u čijem sastavu radi 18 ambulanti, 4 diskonta stočne hrane, 1 veterinarska apoteka i pet shop
