The Open Institute was established in September 2006 by four founding members who are committed to and interested in contributing to the development of a democratic and just society by facilitating and promoting information, communication and knowledge sharing in society through all means and tools. The Open Institute is a not-for-profit and non-governmental organization that was officially registered at the Ministry of Interior on December 15, 2006.. . We recognize that citizen participation in political and social movements, with freedom of expression and opinion and freedom to access to information, are fundamental for a democratic and just society.
