Massive Fort Henry presides on a hilltop above the city, overlooking the lake and up the river toward the 1000 Islands. Costumed interpreters explain early-19th-century military life. Ten minutes from the campground, tour boats leave regularly to cruise the islands. It's all within easy reach of this KOA, where a sundeck and heated pool, 18-hole mini-golf course, doggy playground and other attractions encourage lazy hours among its treed grounds-except when "Yee-Ha" wagon rides, ice cream socials and other events take over, in season.
