Detailed description is Annanagar A Block Ladies Association popularly known as " AABLA " is a regd NGO run exclusively by a group of dedicated & committed housewives for the upliftment of the down trodden & under privileged women who have no recourse to justice. In 1991, AABLA was started as a forum for redressal of grievances, be it inadequate civic amenities, extreme pollution of vacant corporation lands, inconsistent power supply, harassment from rowdy elements or coordination with the departments concerned. As an NGO selected by the Government, AABLA imparts training in tailoring for destitute women under the Nehru Rozgar Yojna scheme, Free computer classes aided by the Tamil Nadu slum clearance Board. AABLA has also adopted a corporation school in Bharathipuram, Shenoy Nagar through which uniforms are supplied to the children. A Well Womens Clinic was started in 1996 with the support of a team of committed doctors and offers free medical services to women and children from surrounding hutments.
