It is the only organization exclusively devoted to providing a national forum for the improvement of mathematics instruction in the first two years of college. AMATYC works extensively with other national organizations. It is a member of the conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS) and the Council of Scientific Society Presidents (CSSP). AMATYC cooperates with the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the American Statistical Association (ASA), the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), the Mathematical Sciences Education Board (MSEB), Mu Alpha Theta (MAT), and other professional organizations.. .
