The Arkansas Outdoor School summer day camps, based at the C.A.
Vines 4-H Center west of Little Rock, provide an exciting chance for campers age 7-12 to get outside, have fun and discover the world around them..

The center is comprised of more than 220 acres of fields, forests, creeks and a six-acre flat-water lake.
Camps are staffed by outdoor education professionals with a passion for connecting young people with nature..

Each session has a maximum ratio of 10 campers to one staff member, and all activities are designed to emphasize teamwork, self-esteem, communication and cooperation..

No matter which Core Program you choose, campers will enjoy activities such as canoeing, archery, swimming, rock climbing, hiking and arts and crafts..

MYSTERY CAMP.
June 25-29.
Have you ever wondered how super sleuth Sherlock Holmes solved mysteries and caught the bad guys? Well, in this camp you will learn some of the same techniques he used, such as how to finger print, identify clues, use scientific principles and ultimately solve several mysteries CSI style.
This is a great camp for anyone who likes to explore and use their imagination along with their intellect..

CAMP DISCOVERY.
June 11–15 and July 23-27.
This camp is all about discovering the wonders of nature.
Hiking through the woods, stomping in the streams, and digging in the dirt are just a few ways we will get up close and personal with the great diversity of life here in the Natural State.
Topics may include reptiles and amphibians, flowers, trees, insects, mammals, geology and birds.

SPORTS OF ALL SORTS.
June 11-15 and July 23-27.
Come play all day! Whether it’s Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, water balloon volleyball, basketball or Wiffle ball, this camp will emphasize cooperation, sportsmanship, communication, self-esteem, and fitness.
If your children like to play sports and games, then "Sports of All Sorts" is their kind of camp..

BUSY BUILDERS CAMP.
July 9-13 and July 30-August 3.
This camp is designed for our younger campers, 7-9 year-olds.
If you like putting things together, using your hands and being creative, then there is only one place to be this summer: Camp Construct.
We will design, build and use things like rockets, rafts, toys and tools.
Everything will be provided, so no need to run down to Home Depot..

CAMP CONSTRUCT.
July 9-13 and July 30-August 3.
This camp is for our older campers, 10-12 year-olds.
If you want to take your building and creativity to the next level, then this is your camp.
We will be designing and building more involved projects using more advanced tools and techniques.
Some project may include soap-box racers and catapults.
Fun and creativity go hand-in-hand in this camp..

OUTDOOR SKILLS.
June 25-29 and July 16-20.
Want to build a shelter with what’s at hand or find your way through the woods without a compass? If so, then this is your kind of camp.
Outdoor Skills campers will learn skills such as archery, water purification, compass work, outdoor cooking, fishing, and canoeing — just to name a few.
The session ends with a challenging and fun skills test completed by teams of campers.
If your campers are interested in the outdoors then they will love this camp..

SCIENCE IN ACTION.
June 18-22.
If you like to investigate, discover, explore and experiment, then this camp is for you.
We will take a look at everyday "myths" and ideas and try to prove or "bust" them using scientific principles and techniques.
Add canoeing, rock climbing, and daily swim time, and you have a great opportunity to combine fun, friendship, and learning..

TEEN CAMP.
June 18-22 and July 16-20.
New for 2012! This camp is for 13-15 year olds who have "aged out" of the regular day camp program but still want to have an engaging, fun and active summer experience.
This camp will feature more age-appropriate activities and challenges, including a day in our ExCEL program.

(all camps run Monday - Friday).
• Option 2: $195 - 7:30 a.m.

(morning activities + core program).
• Option 3: $155 - 9:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m.
(core program only).
• Option 4: $200 - 9:00 a.m.
- 5:30 p.m.
(core program plus afternoon activities).

Transportation: $35 per child, ONLY for "Full Camp" on the following dates: June 11-15, June 25-29, July 9-13, and July 16-20..

A deposit of $35.00 is required with your registration.
The balance of your camp fees must be paid in full by the start date of your camp session.
Please mail the registration form (PDF), health/activity form (MSWord), code of conduct (PDF) and check (made payable to CES) as soon as possible..

Camp fee (less $35.00 deposit fee) will be refunded if cancellation is at least 2 weeks prior to your session start date.
No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before your session start date..
