Our farming philosophy is simple; GOOD FOOD NATURALLY. . Growing our own food, eating well and living lightly on this planet are all things that drive us in our farming pursuits daily. We’ve come a long way since establishing our very first vegetable garden in 1998. It was then that we knew we were passionate about good food but weren’t really sure how it would all unfold.. . Both farmers at heart (3rd & 4th generation to be exact), we knew agriculture was for us but were looking to do things a little differently from our parents and grandparents.. . In 2008, while searching for ways to make our small parcel of land a viable farming enterprise, we discovered an untapped niche market for pastured free range eggs locally. Knowing that diversity is the key to making a small farm operate most effectively, we then set out to introduce more animals and food production systems to make the most from our land while providing a full time wage and great way of life for our family.. . As a family, we are passionate about connecting people with their food and do this by offering an assortment of produce and services from our farm. Grass fed beef, free range eggs, duck eggs, workshops and farm tours are all a big part of Applebox Farm and there’s still room for plenty more.. . Our long awaited Farm Shop is now well and truly on the agenda. Through our Farm Shop (which is set to open later this year), we plan to offer a diverse range of produce directly from our farm and also offer other local produce from the immediate area including honey and chestnuts just to name a few.. .
