Detailed description is A terra-cotta amphitheatre developed by a community group 1983 till now initially under the Auspise of CAE Benalla Forum (The Centre Wang) & Benalla Shire The inspiration for this work came from the surge in community Art unleashed by Gough Whitlams Australia Council and funding of Community Art especially the support given by the later Hawke Governent through the Craft Board of the Australia Coucil und David Williams. and the Hawke Govt Community Employment Program. A direct antecedant is Gaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona, Spain. It is a terra-cotta amphitheatre seating 100 approx. people and associated arcade containing commissioned seats by famous Australian Ceramicists including Biccentinal commissioned artists, framed by columns supporting a frieze. Above the arcade is a tiled terrace that looks over Lake Benalla and back to the main street. The plan of the mural is geometrical and based on the Yin Yang symbol. The amphitheatre contained in one circle and the arcade ,winter garden and upper terrace lookout in the other circle. The male female symbology is further pursued with the blue/gold/turquoise dome tower sitting above the bowl of the amphitheatre. The Thong aphone placed in the tower is able to be responded to by the Thong aphone in the Terrace wall above, inspired by the film "Deliverance"
