It is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. It has also been granted the prestigious Inspire mark by the London 2012 Inspire programme.. . Beyond the Torch Run is inspired by the Olympic torch coming through Lewes. It aims to bring the spirit of the Paralympics (friendship, participation, celebration of diversity, overcoming barriers) to those living beyond the torch run, between Lewes and Seaford, encouraging them to be proud of who they are and where they live. The website will be available to view for 2 years, enabling visitors from near and far to discover the hidden gems of the area, the things not normally found on a map.. . 5 local groups will be working with 5 different artists (Kristina Veasey, Jo Brown, Simon Wood, Tony Anderson, and Giles Paley-Phillips) to give their response to what makes this area unique. A gallery exhibition of the work created will be open to public at The Crypt Gallery, Seaford 10-12th September (to coincide with the end of the Paralympic Games. . .
