Detailed description is The Blue Schools Programme, created by the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA), provides clean water and sanitation in schools in developing countries. The IRHAβs Blue Schools programme started with the objective to provide a sustainable supply of clean water and improve the sanitation conditions in schools through the use of rainwater harvesting. By capturing and storing the rain that falls on school buildings, these projects ensure that there is a sustainable supply of water for the students and teachers to drink and clean with. From this basis of a consistent water supply, many other activities are then carried out to further improve the school environment and the childrenβs lives.
