Detailed description is Buca Fen Lisesi. Demostanis Baltacı, Osmanlı Hamdi Bey' le çalışmış ve arkeoloji alanında varlık göstermiş bir kişidir. Onun yaptırdığı köşk, gerek ana bina gerekse bahçe mimarisinde incelmiş bir kültürün varlığını bugün dahi hissettirmektedir.. . Baltacı Köşk’ü, Buca'nın en eski yapıtlarından birisidir. Köşk 1863'te Abdülaziz'in İzmir'e gelişinde Buca'da kaldığı yerdir. Söylentilere göre Sultan, Aliotti Bahçesi’ne bakan kapıdan kabul edilmiş ve adet olduğu üzere, kapı bundan sonra kapatılarak bir daha kullanılmamıştır. Kesin bilinmemekle birlikte, 1890’larda köşkün Ispartalıyan adlı İzmirli bir zengin tüccarın mülkiyetine geçtiği anlaşılmaktadır. Köşk 19. yüzyılda Yunan Milli Bankası adına 120.000 Kaimeye satın alınmıştır.. . Daha sonra Venizelos burasınıı, savaşta ölenlerin çocukları için bir yetimhane yapılmak üzere İzmir Rum Toplumuna bağışlamıştır. Ancak 1922'de buradaki yetimler, Amerikan Kızılhaçı tarafından Yunanistan' a nakledilmiştir. Bu tarihte Türk Devleti'ne geçen köşk ,Mustafa Kemal Paşa'ya bağışlandı. Fakat Paşa, burasının okul yapılmasını istedi. 1930’lu yıllardan bu yana köşk okul olarak kullanılagelmiştir. Köşk 1930 yılında Buca Orta Okulu olmuş, asıl konak yatılı öğrenci yurdu, yanındaki küçük yapılar da müsamere salonu v.s. olarak kullanılmıştır. Dimostanis Baltacı Köşkü, 1966 yılında Buca Lisesi olmuş.Okul 1990 yılında Buca Lisesi ile Buca Ortaokulu şeklinde ikiye ayrılmıştır Köşk ile beraberindeki binalarda süren eğitim maratonu içerisinde Buca Lisesi 1993yılında müfredat Laboratuar Okulu ve Yabancı Dil Ağırlıklı Lise 1997 yılında da Bilgisayar Laboratuar okulu olarak kullanılmıştır.Bu Arada Baltacı Köşkü bir süre Güzel Sanatlar lisesi olarak da kullanılmıştır.Ünlü Baltacı Köşkü 2008- 2009 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Buca Fen Lisesine dönüştürülmüştür. Halen bu bina Buca Fen Lisesi olarak öğrencilerin eğitim gördüğü bir mekandır. Bugün Köşk,, heykelleriyle ve rüya gibi bahçesiyle geçmişimizden günümüze bir tarih abidesi olarak nostaljik yapısını korumaya devam etmektedir.
