Aus dem ehemals landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb entstand im Jahr 1977 unser Café Gerling.

Mittlerweile wurde es durch den Pensionsbereich und das Restaurant erweitert.

Tradition und Geschichte:.

Das Café Gerling wurde am 15.
Februar 1977 von Gerda und Willi Gerling eröffnet..
Es war zunächst als zweites Standbein zusätzlich zur Landwirtschaft geplant.
Die Grundlage für diesen Schritt lag in der Ausbildung.

Sie ist Tochter und gelernte Bäckerin aus der Bäckerei Rüsing in Langeneicke..
Was als reines Tagescafé geplant war entwickelte sich schnell weiter.
Außer den hausgebackenen Kuchen und Torten wurden Hausmacher Wurstspezialitäten und jeden Freitagabend ein Spanferkel-Essen angeboten, dass sich schnell etablierte..
Aus diesem Grund bekam Willi Gerling schnell den Spitznamen "Schweine-Willi".
Abends konnten die Kurgäste hier das Tanzbein schwingen..
Mit dem 70.
Geburtstag von Willi Gerling ging der Betrieb in die neue Generation über..
Von Januar 1994 bis Ende März 1994 wurden umfangreiche Umbauarbeiten durchgeführt.
Es entstand ein Anbau an das vorhandene Wohnhaus und in der gesamten 1.
Etage wurden 4 Doppelzimmer und 4 Einzelzimmer ausgebaut.
Das ursprüngliche Café wurde durch den Anbau einer komplett neuen, geräumigen Toilettenanlage und den Ausbau eines Gesellschaftsraumes erweitert..
Die Küche wurde vergrößert, um von jetzt an auch eine Abendkarte anzubieten und auch größere Gesellschaften zu "bekochen"..
Am Herd steht der Chef Ulrich Gerling selbst.
Die Küche ist orientiert an Produkten aus der Region und für neue Kreationen immer offen..
Ute Gerling backt die immer noch selbstgebackenen Kuchen und ist für den Pensionsbereich und den Service zuständig..
Nachdem die Neustrukturierung des Betriebes guten Anklang fand, wurde 1996 zusätzlich ein Biergarten in nächster Nähe zum .
hauseigenen Damwildgehege angelegt.
Dieses Damwild findet sich übrigens in den Wintermonaten.
in der Speisekarte wieder, "frischer geht's nicht"..
Im Januar 2000 wurde der vorhandene Gastraum um einen Wintergarten erweitert.
Dieser überzeugt im Winter mit einem gemütlichen Kachelofen und im Sommer kann man die gesamte Fensterfront öffnen und hat eine überdachte Terrasse..
2004 wurde das Haus nochmals um ein weiteres Doppelzimmer und eine Ferienwohnung in der 2.
Etage erweitert..
Außerdem steht ein befestigter Parkplatz für 2-3 Wohnmobile zur Verfügung..
Ute und Ulrich Gerling mit ihren Söhnen Stefan und Christoph und das gesamte Team sind stets um das Wohl Ihrer Gäste bemüht..
Stefan Gerling hat seine Ausbildung zum Koch im Landhotel Gasthof Schütte in Oberkirchen im Sommer 2011 mit Auszeichnung bestanden,.
und arbeitet zur Zeit bei "Stratbücker's" in Herzfeld.
