Detailed description is Camp Banksia is a 155 bed beach-side Camp. We offer catering for pre-booked school, sport, community, church, business, and family groups. Camp Banksia is a 156 bed beach-side camp and conference centre at Port Sorell. Nestled into a six hectare bush setting it caters for pre-booked school, sport, community, church, business, and family groups.. There are 22 six berth cabins with bunk beds. Cabins are arranged in clusters of five or six. Each cluster has its own sets of showers and toilets, all free. All rooms have electric heating. Guests need to supply their own pillow and bedding as well as a towel and all toiletries.. As well, there is Banksia Beach Cabins, 2 separate self-contained complexes. Complex 1 has 2 en-suite rooms each with a queen bed and four bunk beds & TV, a kitchen/dining room plus an extra room with 2 bunk beds. Complex 2 is a 2 bedrooms unit with a double bed in one room and a set of bunks in the other, a small lounge and kitchen area and separate bathroom. All bedding, linen & towels are supplied. Total sleeping capacity for both complexes is 18. Banksia Beach Cabins is away from the main camp accommodation and can, therefore, be used separately or in conjunction with the rest of the camp.. The main dining hall and function room is a large sunny building also well suited to conferences and seminars. The hall can seat 160 for catering purposes or 200 in a conference setting. There are 2 tea and coffee alcoves within the hall, a microwave and the option to hire crockery and cutlery. The hall also houses a 65” TV, Denon amplifier, Blu-ray DVD player, a white board and a lectern. Camp Banksia offers a catering service of nutritious meals which are prepared onsite fresh daily. Camp Banksia can also cater for most dietary requirements. The camp also has a fully covered self-catering kitchen which is available for hire.. On the camp grounds is the “Port Sorell Community Recreation and Performing Arts Centre” which is available for separate hire through Camp Banksia’s office.
