The Rising Star Elementary School, founded by the Canal View Women's Charity and Welfare Society(CVWCWS) is presently housed in a residential 8 Marla house at 17-G Canal berg, which was donated by one of its members. with its modest start, in late 2009, with a small number of students and with classrooms having only floor mats, it is today providing FREE quality education to the poor through the cooperation of corporate organizations and individuals who have helped us finish the school with modern school furniture and fixtures.. . We are not only providing FREE education but also FREE books, stationery, uniforms and Bata shoes as the CVWCWS aims to provide quality education to those who cannot afford it, where poor students are given an opportunity to get standard education along with character building. We have a very dedicated team of 13 Teachers out of which 4 are M Ed and 3 are B Ed degree holders who are paid quite well so that they do their job with dedication and contentment (All the members of the CVWCWS work voluntarily for this cause and none of the members or their relatives are engaged in a gainful employment with the school.. . it has always been heartbreaking to refuse admission to a lot of needy students due to lack of accommodation. The present building was not purpose built for a school premises and yet we were able to accommodate a nursery and a classes from Grade 1 to 5. Even after utilizing the kitchen, the terrace and the store by covering it by a fiber glass roof for expansion and we have started refusing new students whose number could have gone 500 if we did not have the accommodation constraint. . . Our Future Mission is to establish a purpose built school on at least 2 kanals of land with proper class rooms, playgrounds, labs and other facilities so that we can increase our student intake and even start offering classes from 5 and above. The cost of the required land & building is estimated to being Rs. 2.5-3 Cores( 25-30 Million).. . It is for this cause that we appeal to all conscientious individuals and organization to donate by way of funds, land or building materials so that we can realize our vision of the future. A future that is brighter and more enlightened for those who cannot afford quality education.. . We urge you to donate generously.. .
