Its sole purpose is to provide support for school reunions and charitable endeavors of the organization.. . Carver High School was built in 1951 and held its first graduation exercises in May 1952. The Class of 1970 was the last class to graduate. Carver High students were transferred to Stephens High School and Carver became the city's new Stephens Elementary School. All former Carver students, those in 11th through 1st grade, graduated from Stephens High School from 1971 through 1981, respectively. Carver's mascot was the King Cobra and the official school colors were black and gold. Carver-Stephens, spanning the years 1951 through 1981. At the end of the 2013-2014 school year, Stephens Elementary was closed forever.
