Detailed description is We distribute food to anyone in Van Buren County who comes to us with a hunger need. . Once a month U.S.D.A. commodities are distributed to qualified clients. We serve an average of over 380-400 households every Wednesday. (Yikes, we had 441 households on October 26, 2016!) . All workers, including the board and directors are volunteer; none are paid for their time.. Every dollar donated can purchase 5 lbs. or 5 cans of food. We can stretch your. donated money further to help more people with their food needs. We receive. regular donations from Food Bank friends (individuals, churches, and fund raisers. by the schools (canned food drives), smoked pork roasts (once a year in the fall). Our local Wal Mart and Cash Saver make regular donations that we pick up.
