Detailed description is www.thebaroness.bandcamp.com www.youtube.com/classamc www.classamc.bandcamp.com www.soundcloud.com/classa .Class-A's relentless work ethic as an MC has led to collaborations with a virtual all-star cast of Australian producers. Over 3 albums - and a mixtape - she's worked alongside M-phazes (Obese Records, Pharoahe Monche), BVA (Mnemonic Ascent), Ishu, Aoi and Urban Monk aka Dyl Thomas (Polo Club). Class A has also shared stages with the likes of Dilated Peoples, Jean Grae, Talib Kweli, Lord Finesse, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious) and J-Live. . . 2010's "Me, Me, Me & Him: The Secret Life of a Receptionist," led to a feature spot on Triple J Unearthed, radio play all over the country, and spawned a massive Australian tour alongside The Tongue and Spit Syndicate. Drum Media called the album "immersive, endearing and great fun." It's these traits that make Class- A's lyrics adaptable enough to be as suited to M-phazes traditional rap bangers, as they are to Urban Monks' future-fried space funk.. . Class A then dropped a well-received single and video "Never" with local beatsmith Ishu- and this is when Aoi came in. After creating remixes for Class-A's "Burning Hot" and "Never" and a conversation about the Aoi track “Baroness” - that Class-A had intended to use as a rap moniker early on, but also reflects Aoi's childhood obsession with G.I Joe - The Baroness was born. . . Fast forward to January 2012, and the album was dropped on an unsuspecting public, instantly becoming feature album on Triple J's Hiphop Show.. . The self-titled release reflects a different side of Class-A. Her flow maintains the character that so many found endearing on earlier releases, but there's a new attitude here, revealing a more calculated, colder edge. It really is like, as Aoi says "by night, Class A is an Eastern European, dark haired evil double agent for Cobra. With glasses." Not to mention that matching this vocal presence with Aoi's easy neck snapping drums, obscure samples and crusty vinyl loops, is a stroke of genius on a super-villainous level. Cobra Commander bumps this on his way to headquar- ters, and so will you. So, with the first album functioning as a kind of manifesto, The Baroness now embarks on world domination, already work- ing on a follow up EP. With recent Supports for Lord Finesse, Iriscience and Rhettmatic under their utility belts.. . The Baroness is apart of worldwide hip-hop collective L-Burn Illuminati, who are creating a well-deserved buzz around Melbourne with their hoodrat antics.. Collingwood ninja rapper. Geelong is my home. One half of The Baroness (with Aoi). Flows for days. L-Burn. Bleeding Hearts.
