Detailed description is Construída por famílias do bairro Sorocamirim, inicialmente dedicada à Santa Cruz, é uma das primeiras capelas a região de São Roque, com mais de 120 anos.
Como antigamente havia um gramado na frente, ela se tornou conhecida como “Capela da Grama”..

Na década de 70 a capela recebeu reformas, quando foi substituído o altar de madeira que com a ação do tempo precisava de reformas..

Consta que antigamente as famílias e parentes de fora do bairro vinham de carro de boi, juntavam-se com os moradores do bairro e passavam a temporada da festa juntos, participando das novenas e no ultimo dia da festa da procissão e da missa.
Armavam as tendas e conviviam no terreiro (pátio) da Capela com muita festa, alegria, distrações e ali permaneciam por vários dias.
Durante o dia preparavam o almoço com muita fartura de frango, leitoa, etc., sendo o motivo maior a confraternização de todas as famílias durante os dias da festa..
