Detailed description is Peer-led adjunct courses, individual and group tutoring sessions, study-skills workshops, and advising for all Sac State students!. PARC provides supplemental instruction (SI), tutoring, and advising from the people who know best—students who’ve received high grades in the very same classes. SI Student Leaders share their tried-and-true study tips, fun memorization tricks, and stress management techniques in one-unit, credit/no credit adjunct courses, which are attached to GE classes with high fail rates. Students who enroll in an adjunct course typically earn 1 to 1.5 grade points higher than their peers—that’s the difference between a “C” and a “B+”! One student recently reported, “Last semester I failed this class; now I am getting an ‘A’ because of the adjunct!” And did we mention that adjuncts don’t require any homework?. Also available at PARC are individual and group tutoring sessions, study-skills workshops, and advising for all aspects of college life; they are all FREE! .
