The drive is given to the solder stations to repair the PCB or find a donor board and move the ROM to the donor board. Once repaired and the drive can initialize the drive is given back to this station to determine if further damage exists in the service area. If the drive can initialize and data is present the drive is cloned sector by sector to a new drive.. . Work Stations:. . 1. Advanced Data Recovery tools used to determine and repair problems associated with the drive SA. The tools are used to test heads, read the service area, repair the service area, and work with the ROM on certain drives that are corrupted to rebuild the ROM to access the drive again. There will be 2 work stations set up for each tool used in this process.. . 2. Logical repair station: The logical repair stations has special software packages used in repairing the drive MBR, partition table and reading the file structure of the HDD.
