As she spent time writing each scene, she envisioned what the stage would look like, what the cast would say and how they would act. As she finished writing, she tore the pages out of the notebook, folded them up and placed them in the back of her Bible and that is where they stayed for 12 years. Christmas of 2009 Pastor Darryl Jones, the Pastor of Freedom Baptist Church, approached Mrs. Denise and asked if she had anything special that the church could put on for Easter. She immediately thought of the play she had placed in the back of her Bible. Here is a unique thing about the title "DAYS OF ELIJAH." On the first Sunday that Denise and her husband Danny came to visit Freedom, they opend up the doors to enter the church and the choir was singing "DAYS OF ELIJAH." They looked at each other, smiled and knew on that very day they were finally in a place they could call home. With that being said, Mrs. Denise, Pastor Darryl, the cast and the crew invite you to come to Freedom Baptist Church on Easter weekend and experience the Bible being brought to life right in front of your eyes and worship with us as we celebrate the birth and the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
