O Departamento Estadual de Trânsito -DETRAN, Autarquia na forma da Lei nº 3.650, de 19 de maio de 1978, reorganizada pela Lei nº 6.417, de 31 de agosto de 1992 e modificada pelas Leis nº 7.435, de 30 de dezembro de 1998, n° 9.436, de 23 de março de 2005 e nº 10.214, de 26 de junho de 2006, vinculada à Secretaria da Administração, com personalidade jurídica de direito público, autonomia administrativa e financeira e patrimônio próprio, com sede e foro na Cidade do Salvador, Estado da Bahia, e jurisdição em todo o território do Estado, reger-se-á por este Regimento, pelas normas regulamentares que adotar e demais disposições legais pertinentes.. . §1º - O Departamento Estadual de Trânsito -DETRAN gozará, no que couber, de todas as franquias e privilégios concedidos aos órgãos da administração direta do Estado.. . §2º - O Departamento Estadual de Trânsito e sua sigla DETRAN são designações equivalentes para quaisquer fins ou efeitos previstos em lei.. .
