The following is a rough outline of what an individual school plan would look like. YEAR 1. • Program developer will work with the institution to establish Year 1 goals. • Program developer will work directly with the school administrative appointee to establish beginning levels for a GATE/Honors program . • Program developer will work with the school administrative appointee/GATE program director to establish the programs in grades 4/5 or other grade level established by the school to be the starting point.. • Program developer will work with the school at least 1 hour per week in the initial stages of the program development. • Plan for Year 2. . YEAR 2. • The program developer will facilitate in the development of a Honors/GATE program in grades 6-8. • The Honors/GATE program will be content based and will eventually lead to teacher teams. • Program developer will work at least 2 hours per month with the teacher teams. • Program developer will offer staff development to all staff interested in offering instruction to Honors/GATE students. • Plan for year 3. . .
