Detailed description is I have an etsy shop coming soon, but until then, my work is still available directly from me.. I also love making custom pieces. I create custom monograms by hand for special occasions, such as new babies, graduations, baptisms, housewarmings or wedding or bridesmaids' gifts. I can embroider items for home decor as well. I recently finished a bench seat cover.. Another art form I love is to use vintage materials and fine fabrics to create new and re-imagined art pieces. My favorite subjects are angels, sea life, abstract designs with re-purposed laces, and women and children. . I use lace, ribbons, buttons, beads, and fabrics, some hand-dyed, to create my vision for each piece. My vintage pieces have been largely inherited (Thank you, Aunt Melle, for the mayonnaise jars full of unusual buttons), but many have been gifts from friends and acquaintances who wanted to get rid of old linens and sewing notions, but couldn't quite throw them away. I'll never use all I already have, but I can't resist a good estate sale or consignment shop.. I especially love doing custom work for other people. So many of us have boxes or drawers of vintage items which we know were precious to those in our family who went before us, or which are beautifully made, sometimes for us. We have no idea what to do with them, but can't throw them away. . I love to sit with a client, go through what he or she has and hear the stories behind the pieces. We then plan and produce something with the most cherished items that will commemorate all the pieces. And then, often, it's possible let go of all the rest.
