A Escola de Ensino Técnico do Estado do Pará (EETEPA), no município de Itaituba, surgiu com as reivindicações da sociedade organizada, que ao longo de anos discutiram em reuniões as necessidades de se criar alternativas de subsistência, diferente daquelas já existentes, oriundas dos círculos econômico da borracha e da garimpagem, bem como, desenvolver uma proposta educacional técnica e inclusiva para efetivar uma nova política de sustentabilidade econômica para região respeitando as diferenças étnicas sociais, culturais, políticas e econômicas.. . Desta forma a Escola foi inaugurada no dia 19 de fevereiro de 2004 com o nome "Escola de Trabalho e Produção do Pará (ETPP)", e era gerida pela Organização Social Escola de Trabalho e Produção do Pará (OSETPP), que recebia os recursos da Secretaria de Estado de Educação (SEDUC) para financiar as atividades desenvolvidas pelas Escolas Técnicas de todo Estado do Pará.. .
