Os processos de solicitação de credenciamento da Faculdade Jangada e autorização dos Cursos de Ciências Biológicas e Educação Física, foram protocolados no MEC/SeSU, em agosto de 2003. Em junho de 2004 a Comissão designada pela SeSU, após análise e avaliação in loco, recomenda o credenciamento da Faculdade Jangada e as autorizações dos Cursos solicitados.. . A Portaria 3.312, de 18 de outubro de 2004, credencia a Faculdade Jangada, aprova o Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional para os próximos cinco anos, e seu Regimento Interno com o Instituto de Educação Superior. Na mesma data, através da portarias 3.313, autoriza o Curso de Educação Física e a 3.314 o Curso de Ciências Biológicas, nas modalidades de Bacharelado e Licenciatura para os dois cursos.. . Em novembro de 2004, a Faculdade Jangada abre as inscrições para o seu primeiro processo seletivo.
